Carmen Jones
I was lucky enough to go to Redroofs Theatre School as a child Carmen Jones was my first audition and first West End show I was 13 and learnt a great deal.

I always credit my big theatre school work as I was a contracted Equity professional and worked hard! Simon Callow directed and it was at the beautiful The Old Vic Theatre waterloo, feels like it was yesterday loved it.

My third and final West End contract while at school.

I loved this show, it was so much fun, I was slightly older and new 100% this was going to be my career.

It was at The National Theatre and the fantastic Clive Rowe played my dad who I still see and work with to this day.

I remember watching Fame the musical just before i started London Studio Centre and was blown away! The late Scott Sherrin played the lead role of Tyrone Jackson [Leroy in the film].

And he was just amazing! My first audition after graduating London Studio Centre was Fame! I auditioned for director Karen Bruce for ensemble danced, sang, read and then got the call from my agent saying I got the lead role of Tyrone Jackson at The Prince of Wales Theatre london.

It really was a dream role and a dream come true! I was 19 years old.

All You Need Is Love
This was a show which ran at The Queens Theatre in London where I played the role of a guy called 'Adrian'.

It was based on the songs by The Beatles and I had some great songs including 'Got To Get You Into My Life' and 'I've Just Seen A Face'.

It was a fantastic cast including Jon Boydon and Hannah Jane Fox. The show also had amazing choreography by Kate Prince and Nigel Charnock.

Starlight Express
I auditioned for the leading role of Rusty in Starlight Express for Sir Trevor Nunn and Arlene Phillips.

It was a huge audition process including a weeks skate school [as the whole cast were on roller skates]. Starlight was a great show for me and stretched me as an all round performer.

I did the show for 2 years at The Apollo Victoria Theatre and enjoyed every minute. It felt like opening night every night....and yes I fell over a few times. We all did!

Oh What A Night!
This was a dream job!

Great show, great part and it toured Australia and I didn't have to audition!!

I was lucky enough to be asked to do the show which I obviously said yes to! directed and choreographed by Kim Gavin.

I got to travel Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, made some best friends and got to work with Kathy Sledge from the American disco group Sister Sledge.

This was one of those shows I was desperate to get. I knew it was huge on Broadway and I knew I could play Seaweed J Stubbs.

I was over the moon when i was offered the part!

I learnt so much from this show and it was an amazing experience working with the original Broadway creative team, Jack O'Brien, Jerry MItchell, Marc Shaiman and Scott Whitman.

This show was so much fun and was a real roller coaster ride with the show winning 4 of the 11 Olivier Awards we were nominated for and getting to work with Tracie Bennett, Mel Smith and West End legend Michael Ball was a dream come true.

Michael Ball Past & Present Live Tour
When Michael Ball call's you and ask's you to be a guest singer on his upcoming tour you say yes!

I loved every second, we were like a family and were looked after like stars.

It was a pleasure getting to sing with Louise Marshall, Ben James Ellis, Louise Dearman, Emma Williams and of course Mr Ball.

It was always a secret ambition of mine to sing solo at The Royal Albert Hall and on this tour i did twice! I felt very lucky.

"Anyone who can skate, hits high notes, backflips and can do the splits gets my vote! Adrian Hansel's JT did just that!"
Australian Press

"Adrian Hansel delivers his performances with such a powerful and mature voice that it would have defied anyone not to be moved."
